What Are The Side Effects Of Sulfameth/trimethoprim Tablets?

Hello, I was prescribed Sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 tabs for a swollen lymph node or cyst in the back of my neck. I was reading all of the side effects and it is making me think twice about taking it. I was told to stay out of the sun which also gives me concern. I have taken antibiotics in the past and have not had any side effects. I am not aware of any allergies that I have. For some reason I am hesitant to take this one.

You are right in saying that there are multiple side effects including allergic reaction, and sun hypersensitivity but I like to tell you that every medicine have one or more serious side effects. You need to be cautious to understand and report to your doctor or pharmacist in case you develop one.
If you had no side effects in past that indicates that there is less likelihood of developing allergic side effects. Your doctor knows about all these effects and he prescribed this because he thinks that there is more benefit than side effects in your case.
