Blurred vision 2. confusion 3. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position 4. fainting 5. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse 6. fever 7. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet 8. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness 9. sweating 10. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet 11. unusual tiredness or weakness Side effects of clofranil Dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, changes in appetite/weight, flushing, sweating, tiredness and blurred vision may occur. Anxiety symptoms may temporarily worsen when you first start taking clomipramine. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use a saliva substitute. To prevent constipation, maintain a diet adequate in fiber, drink plenty of water, and exercise. If you become constipated while using this drug, consult your pharmacist for help in selecting a laxative (e.g., stimulant-type with stool softener). Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects.
