Dear Ma'am, Hi & Welcome.
Used to lower the high cholesterol level, Simvatatin is generally a safe medication. Its common side effects include muscle pain (myopathy), stomach pain, dyspepsia, liver injury, joint pains, sleep disturbances, etc.
Fosamax (Alendronate) is an effective medication for osteoprosis.
The most important side effects of this drug includes heartburn, upper abdominal pain due to inflammation or ulcer of the oesophagus (food pipe) which resembles GERD.
These side effects can be prevented as follows:
1. Take Fosamax tablet on an empty stomach, with a full glass of water (6 to 8 ounces) & at least 30 minutes before the first food, beverage, or medication of the day.
2. Avoid lying down for at least 30 minutes after taking this drug and until after the first food of the day.
3. This drug should not be taken with mineral water, coffee, tea, soda, or juice.
4. This drug should not be taken at bedtime or before arising for the day.

Hope the suggestions given above would benefit you.
Best regards.
