Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
can I safely use natural herbal supplements for menopausal symptoms after having a TIA and being taken off of Hrt therapy...only recommendation I have been given is to take an antidepressant brisdelle or blood pressure clonidine I don t have either of these issues..last blood pressure reading 108/70...although I am having several hot flashes daily 1-2 hour intervals the worst symptom is joint pain ...which I experienced before I went on hrt and do have an appt with a rheumatologist unfortunately not until May. My family dr. Prescribed prednisone which really escalated things instead of helping....Tia cause unknown all ct scans carotids mri echo ecg negative. Did have a high protein flag on the anti coag screen. Taking 325 mg aspirin daily as recommended by hematologist? Do not want to start another possible addictive drug regimen until I see my rheumatologist. I am not looking for a drug to cover it all up but a way to get back to healthy
First of all, drop the idea of taking any herbal medicines. They are not reliable.Secondly,if your joint pain has worsened after taking Prednisone, then stop taking it.Joint pain may occur due to many reasons,so this doesn't mean that Prednisone will help in all the cases.Go for traditional physiotherapy like local massage, exercise and reduce weight (puts pressure on joints) till your appointment. You will be fine.
