Encorate chrono is a mood stabiliser and anti-epileptic medicine. The common side effects are gastritis, hairfall, vomiting, diarrhea, weight gain, sedation. To avoid these effects, the drug is taken after meal and at bedtime. Avoid fatty food and if required take antacid like omeprazole.
The rare side effects are liver toxicity, pancreatitis, thrombocytopenia and PCOD in females. However these side effects develop when drug is taken for long term.
6monthly check-up of liver functions, complete blood count and yearly ultrasound of abdomen is required.
Hope this helps. Thanks
