What Are The Side Effects Of Doxycycline?
Does doxycycline cause any liver problems?? i feel like after taking doxycycline the part near my rib cage would have a sharp pain throughout my day. It is not constant pain but it comes and goes. Should i be worried? Should i stop taking the pill? I was prescribed to take it by my derm doctor for acne problems. 2x a day on an empty stomach 2 hours before and 2 hours afterwards. I have already limited myself to only 1 dose at night 2 hours after i have finished my dinner. Any help is appreciated. thank you

As per your query you have pain near rib cage which is sharp and occur after you start taking Doxycycline . Well Doxycycline is not know to cause liver problem , but there are certain side effects of this drug like stomach cramps and muscle spams that can cause symptoms you mention in query . There can be other reasons also for your symptoms like Liver Inflammation , Gallbladder Infection , Muscle spasm , Stomach related problem and Heart related problems . I would suggest you to consult you doctor who prescribe you this medicine for proper evaluation .Doctor may also refer you to specialist that is cardiologist , orthopedic surgeon or gastroenterologist if he find problem to be related with heart , muscle or bone and liver or gallbladder receptively . Doctor may also alter the dose of Doxycycline or prescribe substitute if he/she find this problem to be occur due to Doxycycline .
