What Are The Side Effects Of Dexilant?

Taking Dexaline. I may have the name a little wrong. Vomited almost monthly prior to meds. PA took one test for some kind of infection. Said ulcer was likely cause. Never had a large black chunk come up before followed by bile & fleghm. Pain present only with vomit. Pain sent me to hospital 2 years ago. That is when issues began.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM.
Dexilant is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which decreases acid production in the stomach and help ulcers to heal. It may take a few days to heal and till then you can have pain. To prevent vomiting you can use a prokinetic or an antiemetic in addition.
If symptoms do not subside, I think you should have an upper GI endoscopy for diagnosis.
I shall be happy to answer if you have more queries
