Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good afternoon, My 7 year old daughter has history of RSB and in the past she has been giving Albuterol Sulfate. I have noticed since March 26th every time she coughs she stops breathing until she is able to catch her breathing again. Mostly it happens at night. Her pediatrician has her back on Albuterol and she is a little bit better but she is still having those episodes. Does this have anything to do with seasonal allergies??? Please let me know what is happening because I am terrified and confused. Thank you
Your daughter's history and symptoms are suggestive of Asthma/ Reactive airway disease. Reactive airway disease has a positive association with allergy and atopy. Albuterol is a very effective initial treatment. If you notice that symptoms are not well controlled with prescribed schedule of albuterol, follow up with Paediatrician to increase the dose of albuterol or supplement with another medication to her treatment schedule.
Hope I was able to help you Please address further queries here Regards, Dr.Lekshmi
