What Are The Risks Of Weaning Off Citraz?
Hi there, I am on Dopaquel 25 mg and Citraz 10 mgs. Wanted to come off the Dopaquel as seen the side effects are weight gain and find it different to lose weight. Coming off want are my risks ? Please advise if Citraz can also contribute. If so, what are alternative meds can you advise for me. That don t contribute to weight gain?

Dopaquel(Quitapine) can cause weight gain as one of its side effects.But the dose which you are prescribed 25mg can hardly cause this side effect.
Citraz (Escitalopram) is well tolerated & do not cause weight gain.
Neverthless if you are not tolerant to Dopaquel 25 mg you may switch over to clozapine.
But please remember hardly any antipsychotic drugs are devoid of weight loss.
You may prevent weight gain by taking low dose medications as well as life style change.
Please consult your psychiatrist before changing medicines.
