What Are The Risks Of Blood Clotting While Changing Medication For DVT?
I am currently on enoxaparin 60 mg two times a day for treatment of my second dvt. Drs thinking of changing me to xarelto or eliquis or warfarin. Doing well on current meds. Worried about bleeding side effects of new meds since I am 73 yrs old and have diabetes. Do you have an opinion? My first blood clot was caused by lung cancer. Can t find any cancer this time. The second clot occurred just 2 month after being off enoxaparin the first time.

If the patient has the risk to do bleeding complications, we prefer Eliquis in which this risk is the lowest compared to the other medications. Please discuss with your doctor for this.
