What Are The Repercussions Of Eating Multani Mitti?
My mother is 41 years old and she has a habit of eating multani mitti always... She has this habit around 3 months or longer... She roasts the multani mitti and eats it... So is it okay to do so or is it something serious? And what is it s treatment? What are its defects?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Multani mitti is a clay... & eating it is hazardous for health. It can settle down in intestines to cause intestinal obstruction, can cause worm infection in bowels, can damage digestion & cause weakness.
The only way out is stopping the Multani mitti consumption immediately. Be watchful for the appearance of bad effect & be on doctor's touch for needful treatment in time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
