Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

Pleurisy is inflammation of the layers covering the lungs called as pleura. This inflammation may be caused by bacterial or viral infections and usually presents as chest pain on one side and this pain increases when you breathe deeply or cough. As you have been diagnosed with viral infection, this will heal as soon as your viral illness is cured. Viral infections are usually self limiting and heal within 7-10 days and treatment is only symptomatic.
I suggest you take over the counter painkillers for the pleuritic pain.
You will be be able to relieve pain by lying on the painful side or pressing a pillow against it.
You will get better within a week, Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks.
