What Are The Harmful Side Effects Of Inhaling Excess Smoke In Infants?

I started a small fire in my oven by leaving a lid in it that had a plastic piece on it. I turned it off with a fire extinguisher and now it still smells a litte. Will it affect my 18 month old? I sprinkled baking soda on the floor just now to absorb the smell. Is any of this bad?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
Inhaling too much of carbon monoxide can cause respiratory problems in your child .
Kindly open the windows and door for cross ventilation.
Also take out your kid in fresh air till the smoke is out of the house.
However if the kitchen was not on fire and there was not much smoke then no need to worry.
Regards,
Dr.riyanka
