Hi. My dad had cat scan. He's been lets say not the dad I always knew. I wish they had layman's terms. Well here goes. -areas of gliosis and encephalomacia are identified in right frontal and right parietal lobe and maybe secondary to postoperative changes, chronic infarction or other chronic changes. - age related involutional changes.
Hi, Thanks for writing in. The CT scan report shows certain areas in the brain where the normal brain tissue has been replaced by brain fluid. This happens when there is long term deficient blood supply to an area or after any brain surgery and trauma.
The age related changes are due to the advancing age and are seen as areas of prominent surface markings in the brain. These are not significant.
