What Are The Effects Of Drinking Bleach Water?

I cleaned my tub with bleach.... Rinsed very well and it had been 8 hours since I cleaned before I put my 3 year old in the bath. However, after the bath filled I noticed a smell of bleach and held the water in my palm... It smelled like bleach and thus I tasted it and of course it tasted like it too. I got him out right away but I m worried that he may have swallowed the water. Will it hurt him????

Hi,

I am assuming that you have rinsed out the bath from the bleach before putting the child in it.

If you have any worries of a child swallowing bleach, he would need to be seen at the emergency department at once.

However, it seems that you have cleaned the bath and then put in the child, so making it unlikely for the child to have ingested any bleach. So that should not be of any harm to the child.

On the other hand, I would not recommend you tasting the water yourself, as it is not good either!
