What Are The Complications Of Piles Surgery?

Hi Doc, last week I had undergone a piles surgery which the doctors say went sucessfully. How long does this pain last for usually (post operation). I sit in a tub of hot water to excrete because only then I feel good. I tried to sit on the WC but when I sit it pains. I am using dilators as suggested. Since the last two days I have a unusual pain on the right side of my anus and sometimes I can't even sit in a normal position (I take pain killers to help me). Please help me with my queries. Thank you.

Hi. The pain can last for 2 to 3 weeks. Some people experience it longer and some lesser. It also depends upon the extent of surgery. Whether one, two or three piles have been removed. The more the number more is the pain. So dont worry. You should continue warm Sitz baths and pain killers as and when required. If the pain intensity increases over a specific point or some foul smelling discharge then you should go back and consult your Doctor. Take care and feel free to ask any queries.
