Hello: My girlfriend and I were having sexual intercourse the other night. I was wearing a spermicide condom. The condom broke, and I immediately pulled out before climaxing. I then drove to the pharmacy and purchased a Plan B pill and she took it within the hour. What are the chances of her becoming pregnant?

I appreciate your concern for the efficacy of Plan-B following condom breakage.

To be effective the Plan-B has be executed within 72 hrs of unprotective penetrative sex the sooner it is taken, the more effective it will be.

Since there is a possibility of pregnancy because of condom breakage, the chances of pregnancy can be 3-5%.

In case of doubt or delayed menses get her urine pregnancy test done to confirm or rule out pregnancy.
