I am a 50yr old male,wt 81kg,BP 120/80[with tenelol25 for last 12yrs],also taking rosuvas 5 for cholestrol control.
current GTT indicates IGT as per doctor since fasting is at 115 and 2hrs is at 220 .
All other checks-pancreas,ecg,lipid and 3months av sugar are well within parameters.
i have been advise to take GLYCOMET500 for 6 months alonwith diet control and exercise .

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir i can understand your concern
in my opinion Diet and exercise are always the first and best treatment in diabetes
if you are interested you can try life style modification like good diet and exercise.
weight loss is very important to reverse the diabetes.
you should keep your BMI to around 25.
Regarding the medication glycomet it is also called as Metformin
its a very good medication in diabetes and not associated with any low sugars.
this is the best first line medication used in diabetes which helps in weight loss and also protects pancreas from further damage.
But you are in a pre diabetic stage i suggest you to try reducing your weight with life style changes alone.
check your GTT after 3 months.
i wish you all the best.
