What Are The Chances Of A Concussion Post A Head Injury?

Yes, My 33 year old daughter wasn t looking where she was walking and walked right into a steel beam at the park when looking at her daughter. She hit the side of her head, upper temple at 10:00 this morning. It did not knock her out but she laid down for a while as it was causing her a lot of pain. She still has a headache now (6 hours later) and can t look at screens. I think she should go get it checked out. I am concerned she may have a concussion. Any thoughts?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If there is no vomiting, fainting or no drowsiness this may be all right but you are very right to go to the ER If there is still a lot of pain just to be very safe.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
