What Are The Causes Of Sobi? Is Sobi Curable?

Hi Doctor, I have got some skin infection since 6 months. I have some allergy sort of on my neck and chest. Itching is there only when sweating. I visited near by dermatologist. She told me that its a fungal infection called sobi and prescribed some medicine. what are the causes of sobi? Is sobi completely curable . if so how long it may take ? do i need to take any precautions?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
Skin infection what you are having is 'Seborrheic dermatitis' caused by yeast Malassezia.
It is inflammatory skin disorder which is chronic, relapsing and usually mild dermatitis. It is not completely curable, but can be effectively controlled. Antifungal medications ketoconazole and ciclopirox are both effective for the condition. These medications should be applied tropically on affected areas of skin. You may have apply it whenever it appears again.
In case the response is not satisfactory, topical corticosteroids or topical urea may also be used along with it.
