What Are The Causes Of Inflammation In Small Bowel, Constipation And Loose Motion?

Hello. I have been diagnosed with inflammation of the small bowel, right where it joins the large bowel. I have had a combination of constipation and loose bowels for years. Had a ct scan and colonoscopy. I am waiting for the results and am scared it might be cancer. I don t have blood in my stool or any fevers. I feel bloated often.

Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM.
Small bowel inflammation is commonly seen in crohn's disease.Since inflammatory bowel disease(IBS) also present with similar complaints I would do a colonoscopy and few blood tests to rule out this condition.Small bowel cancers are very rare and you need not panic. Both Crohn's and IBS can be managed and have a favorable prognosis.Hope this answers your query.
