What Are The Alternatives Of Pentaxim Vaccination?
I had two shots of Pentaxim vaccination for my baby at one and half month , and two and half month each .For my 3 shot my doctor said the vaccination is not available in the market . So , instead they gave my baby two injections which they mentioned it be same composition and painless . I am bit confused , if the 1 and 2 shot of pentaxim vaccine be helpful and effective for my baby and also will the 3 shot be of any contradictory.Kindly help!
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. Pentaxim vaccination is a 5-in-1 combination vaccine indicated for active immunisation of infants from six weeks of age against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis and invasive infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b .Three-Dose Primary Vaccination at 1-1/2, 2-1/2,3-1/2, months of age in infants is recommended If it is not available,DPT combination vaccines against three infectious diseases diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), and tetanus can be given.(3rd shot). Separate/ combination vaccines for Poliomylitis (IPV/inactivated poliovirus vaccine)& Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib) can be given for third shot .
