What Are Recurring Dizziness, Heaviness In Sternum And Acidic Feeling Suggestive Of?

Today I had symptoms of dizziness to where I felt faint. After that I felt a heavy feeling in my sternum and an acidic feeling in my esophagus. The dizziness cleared in about 10 seconds but I still had a light headed feeling for another 10 to 15 minutes. The heavy feeling and acidic feeling went away in about 60 minutes. This has happened 3 times during the past 12 to 15 months.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to gastroesophageal reflux disease. I suggest using medication to lower the acidity of the stomach such as Omeprazole daily in the morning.

I also suggest using Maloox three time a day to neutralize the acidity in the stomach. I recommend avoiding food that can trigger the symptoms such as spicy food.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
