What Are Recurring Chest Pain And Discomfort While Breathing Suggestive Of?

Been feeling as my asthma was acting up last few days.... I treat it and have had it under control for years. Aching in chest started couple of days ago, as I felt a little breathing discomfort.. anxiety levels up over the last weekend, but I have a lot of work to do and thought this was causing the chest discomfort... Then today tried to eat lunch and had to stop due to after eating and swallowing, a few seconds later pain in the middle of my right chest. Then at dinner tonight got the first few bites down with no issue salad and bread But when I took a regular bite of steak and swallowed the pain was pretty severe. Was able to finish by taking very small bites... now feels like I have a air bubble, tried belching and can create the pain when I do this.

hello,welcome to healthcaremagic.

the problem you are describing is not related to asthma. it is related to your oesophagus. you have difficulty in swallowing called as dysphagia in medical terms.

for this, get a barium swallow done along with a chest x ray.

also take a muscle relaxant like flexon MR for it may be just a muscle spasm.

if you encounter any breathing problems or asthma flares up, take your normal medication. and if sever consult a doctor asap.

hope it helps.
thank you
