What Are Elevation In Troponin Levels And Pain In The Chest Suggestive Of?

I am a 29 yo female non smoker non drinker with a healthy lifestyle working out at least 3 times a week with young family. I have no family history of any heart conditions. A few days ago had a pain in chest and my troponin levels reached over 3600. I have had chest X-ray CT scans an angiogram several ECG s with all data showing normal. I am booked in for an MRI later on in the week. There has been no indication of inflammation. What are the chances of this being a viral infection or something more sinister?

Hello,

Elevated troponin may be seen in myocardial inschemia or skeletal muscle damage or renal problems etc.

Pain in the chest may be due to anxiety neurosis or Infections or anemia or acid reflux or cardiac problem.

You already evaluated for cardiac problems. But in noncardiac problems, you have to be get evaluated by chest x-ray, upper GI endoscopy etc. Use tablet pantoprazole before breakfast for one week.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
