What Are Constant Muscle Spasms In Shoulder Blades Suggestive Of?

I have been having constant muscle spasms at both of my shoulder blades. The pain shoots through from my back to my chest, and running up my neck and down my arms. This happens suddenly and from no lifting at all. The strain in my neck at these times gets to where I can t turn my head. What would keep causing this?
