What Are Causes & Remedy Suggested For Shortness Of Breath In Patients With Sarcoidosis?
I have shortness of breath brought on by any activity--started suddenly. Also experiencing general weakness in arms and legs. Had to walk out of my aerobics class because I felt dizzy and couldn't catch my breath . I do have sarcoidosis, which has been dormant since being diagnosed, 17 years ago.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Since you are having sarcoidosis, following are the possible causes for sudden onset breathlessness. 1. Bronchitis 2. Pulmonary embolism 3. Lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI). So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, chest x ray, PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) and CT Pulmonary Angiography. Chest x ray is needed to rule pneumonia. PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis. CT Pulmonary Angiography is needed to rule out Pulmonary embolism. So better to first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment. Don't worry, you will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
