What Indian Diet Plan Lowers Uric Acid And Eliminates Gout ?

Hello Doctor,
My husband has a lot of pain in his right foot. Well, this has been happening for last 1 year. We showed to lot of doctors...x-rays done, and other tests etc...so, finally one doctor pointed that the sysmptoms were related to Gout. The Uric acid level in the report is 10.2, whereas it should be between 5-7.
Although, the Doctor, has told to eat everything in moderation, but my husband is trying to concentrate more on the diet prescibed by The AYURVEDIC DOCTOR. I get confused, since a particular item told by one is rejected by the other.
Please , Could you suggest INDIAN food ,in particular, items that should be completely avoided to lower the uric acid or eliminate gout problem.

Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern for your beloved husband.
The following foods ('items') should be avoided while suffering from gout.

1. Alcohol or alcohol containing beverages such as beer, etc.
2. Red meat, organ meals like liver or kidneys, shrimps
3. Beans like 'Raaj maa", Pulses like "Masoor daal", and legumes

He can eat poultry (chicken, eggs), lean meat (mutton), vegetables, rotis and chapatees, rice preparations, etc. He should also increase the intake of drinking water so as to hasten the elimination of uric acid through urine.

Hope this answers your query.
A feed back is appreciated.
