hi, my brother was admitted to the hospital for apossible heart attack. also vomiting and diarrhea that looked like coffee grounds. he has lost half of his bodie blood which they are replacing.endoscope should nothing in the throat or stomach. cat scan showed nothing wrong with his gallbladder. tomorrow they are going to do a colonostopy. he is 60 yrs old and scared he has colleen cancer. is there other reasons for this type bleeding?tonight they had to give him more blood. please help!

Yes, colonoscopy is the next step.
If negative and bleeding continues, mesenteric angiography may have to be considered.
Bleeding diathesis may have to be evaluated by a Haematologist
