Uti, Had Urine Test. What Is Cause And Treatment?

hi Doctor. My daughter is 19 month old.she had uti in the month of may 2013. Advent antibiotic given by her doctor for 9 day . after that she recovered from uti.doctor advice that till3 years when ever she will have feaver urine should be cheeked. Accordingly we follow the urine test every month. to find out everything is ok. on 29.09.13. she had feaver which is 102 degree we put her on crocine syprup . we thaken to doctor next day she told it is viral. as well as we done tjhe urine test in which pus cell 1-2/hpf, epithelial cell 1-2/hpf, RBC 10 - 12/hpf. what does it mean

Any UTI in children is not to be taken lightly. They have to evaluated for the cause of UTI. Most likely cause would be reflux of urine back into the kidney which normally doesn't. She will need kidney function tests, ultrasound of the abdomen, X-ray test called voiding cystourethrogram and a scan called DMSA to look for function and scars in the kidney. she may need antibiotic prophylaxis till 5 yrs of age. please consult a urologist.
