Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
In my opinion may be due to .
1 Thrombophlebitis i.e. inflammation at the site of injection . The cold , chills , severe pain are an indication that he developed infection .
2 Cellulitis , due to misuse of drugs this drugs may be out from vein and there developed cellulitis around the parts and in muscles .
3 Gangrene , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by a surgeon.
In my opinion he should consult a surgeon at the earliest to sort this problem.
Good luck. Dr. HET
