Urge To Have Rectal Bowel Movement After Loop Ileostomy, Painful, Feels Constipated. Why ?

I have had a loop ileostomy for 5 months. These week I have had the urge to have a rectal bowel movement. It feels, however, as if I'm constipated. It is very painful and as yet I have not been successful in producing more than a ping pong ball size bowel movement and only after considerable strain. The ileostomy was done following damage to my colon during a hysterectomy to give things a chance to heal.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic forum.
This is commonly seen after ilesotomy because there is disorderd in motility. but also it depends on appropriate surgical technique of stoma formation. if this is severe difficulty it can be surgicaly revised and repired but i think it is better to change dietary habits and wait for second surgery.
Hope I have answered your query.
