Ultrasound Shows Enlargement Of Prostrate With Significant Urine Retention In The Bladder. Healing Time?

Hi i have frequent urination problem. An ultra sound scan showed grade 1 enlargement of prostrate with significant urine retention in the bladder . Renal function is normal. I have been put on solitral tablets for 20 days. I have taken them for four days now but see no significant improvement. How long does it take for the medication to be effective? Do i need to combine with any other medication?

Sorry to hear about your problem but I am glad that you are seeking medical attention for the same. Solitral is a tablet which is used to treat prostate enlargement and the drug usually takes 2-3 weeks to show its complete effect. You need to be a bit patient while on this drug.
For better effect, this drug can be combined with finasteride but we generally reserve the combination for more advanced cases. You can talk to your doctor about this combination if your symptoms fail to improve within 2-3 weeks.

Prostate enlargement is an age related problem - effectively treated wit medicines & surgery
Medicines usually show effect within 2-3weeks, if still no response, get Urine C/S to rule out Infection
Also-
1. How much is the prostate size & post void bladder volume
2. need a uroflowmetry
3. get a PSA also
4. If PSA is normal then u need to add some medicine to be more effective
If Post void is very high (>80cc) better to get operated as medicines will not be totally effective & bladder will be affected

take homoeopathic medicine sabal serralata Q 20 drop 3 times with cup of water and chimaphilla Q 20 drop 3 time a day with cup of water
