Treadmill Test Showing Horizontal ST Depressions Noted, Exercise Inducible Ischemia. Can You Explain?
Hi, My mother had gone to the doctor oday for a treadmill Test for checking of the heart. This was the report. Kindly help out: "Horizontal ST depressions noted during stage 2 in inferior and lateral leads persisting till late recovery with downsloping of the ST segment. TMT is positive for exercise inducible ischaemia"
It means she is very likely having Coronary Artery Disease.
It means she will need Coronary Angiography for further assessment and assistance...
Depression of ST segment is due to ischemia (reduced blood supply).
Depression - 1 mm / 80 milliseconds after J point / horizontal or down-sloping is positive
Sometimes, this may become obvious only with increased demand (exercise).
You have not stated her age, personal habits, family history or co-morbidities
She needs follow up / may be bypass or stent...
Discuss with your doctor
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
