Too much gas after eating, farts and burps. How to stop it ?

after i eat i have SOOOO much gas i fart and burb ALLOT ! well i fart allot allot(on the regular basis) but it becomes extreme after i eat and i don t know why or how to stop it and its to the point were i cant get near people and people think i stink : ( .... I am just so gassy period like extremely, I fart like every other couple of minutes and lately its been getting worse

As you have mentioned here we see you have problem with digestion and gas. And its quite odd feeling to be passing wind and burping every now and then.

Gas is normally formed in the stomach due to certain food items like lentils, beans, peas, cabbage etc so you could try maintaining a food diary and note excess passage of gas and avoid the food that causes increased gas.

Gas is also formed due to excess entry of air into the stomach , so if you chew gum ,also do not eat your food fast as it leads to excess air entry. please avoid it as it can increase entry of air into your stomach.

Also here are few tips to reduce your indigestion.

-Avoid coffee/ tea or any other hot beverages

-Avoid areated drinks like pepsi and coca cola etc

-Skip smoking if your a smoker as this worsens the situation

-Avoid foods like beans, peas, lentils, cabbage, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, bananas as it can increase gas

-Eat small but regular meals every 3-4 hours

-Drink a glass of cold milk every morning

-Chew your food properly before swallowing and eat slowly for proper digestion and this also reduces entry of air into your stomach

-Avoid spicy food, citrus fruits, pickles

-Have yoghurt which can give relief

-Drinking coconut water can relieve symptoms to some extent

Thanks for writing to us.
Gas production in our body depends upon many factors and foods.
1. You should avoid gas producing foods like legumes, beans, peas, etc.
2. Swallowing more air during eating also results in excess gas production. This can be avoided if you talk less while eating as talking during eating result in more air intake. Also chew with your mouth cloclosed.
3. Excess flatulence can also result from infection. You should get yourself examined and take medicine under medical supervision.
