Tongue Ulcers Caused By Sharp Teeth, Pain On Chewing. Teeth Removed. Treatment?
I am suffering from an ulcer (small cavity)in my tongue at the right side edge causing from teeth sharpness. So many times I have visited dentists and finally removed 2 teeths No 6 and 7.But still it has not been cured and now a days No 5 tooth and the no 8 tooth are disturbing during chewing anything. It is paining very much. What s your suggession?
Hello bharati,
For tongue ulcers it was not appropriate to remove the adjacent teeth. no. 6 and no.7 teeth are molars which form occlusion with opposing molars and help in chewing, you cannot loose these teeth. as for now for no.5 n 8th tooth go for selective grinding of sharp cuspal edges that prevent tongue trauma.
For tongue ulcers you can apply dentogel,an antiseptic, anesthetic oral ointment which gives relief along with a course of multivitamin 2 times a day for 7 days.
i hope that helps,take care
hello & welcome
ma'am removal of tooth is not a solution of your problem at all.
you have to visit to your dentist for a permanent cure.
if there will any sharp edges teeth than selective grinding of teeth may be done.
some occlusion problem may be there & reason may be tongue thrusting, collapsed arch etc. for that you have to opt for orthodontic treatment.
till than start up with multivitamin capsules & topical anesthetics.
hi dear, in order to heal ur ulcer, use tess oint 3 times a day. it is very effective u ll get relief in just few days. now regarding ur teeth problem u cannot keep on getting tooth removed. so visit a dentist and ask him to shorten the teeth which is irritating u. thank u
