Toddler Has Mild Hepatomegaly. What Are The Precautions To Take? Also Can HBsAg Positive Parent Cause This?

sir, my daughter aged 1 year and 3 months is facing mild hepatomegaly in her recent scan report. kindly advice me what would be the cause? what kind of precautionary we have to take? Her motion is in a colour of pale white to yellow and recently she got severe fever for two days, but her eyes are in normal colour and her urine also normal. One more thing my self her father, i am a HBsAg positive patient for so many years. But during her birth and before her mother checked several times for HBsAg but answered negatively. so i am worrying is this may occured because of me..
i am looking forward for your advice.

Hi, As you have mentioned that your daughter has severe fever for two days, this might have caused mild enlargement of liver. Hepatomegaly has other infective causes too other that hepatitis.

These may include:

Glandular fever
Liver abscess
Malaria
Amoeba infections
Hydatid cyst
Leptospirosis
Actinomycosis

If your daughter has no fever or any other complaints now then there is nothing to worry.

Mild Hepatomegaly will subside gradually or you can give liver supportive tonics after consulting your physician.

If there is any query regarding this then feel free to contact.
