Tightness In Chest Along With Heart Pounding Strongly. Does Smoking Have Any Relation ?

Hello,

I'm a 31 year old female who underwent a PFO closure a year and a half ago. I'm a smoker (1 pack every 2-3 days).... Been trying to quit but been unsuccessful. Today, I was walking upstairs in the cold outside and I experienced tightness in my chest along with my heart pounding uncontrollably for about 5 straight minutes. I'm wondering if this is something I need to go to the ER about. I do not have medical insurance and cannot afford a big hospital bill right now. I'm waiting for new insurance to kick in.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
You had a history of PFO and you smoke also now facing this problem so it is right time to quit the smoking before it is too late of course your symptoms are suggestive of some lung pathology could be something to take with your heart, you better understand this, have nice day.
