Throbbing Pain Upper Teeth To The Cheekbone And Lower Teeth To Jaw Bone, Tooth Extracted. Receding Gums And Sensitive Teeth. Advice?

Sudden onset of throbbing pain upper teeth to the cheekbone and lower teeth to the jawbone on the same side: the 2nd,3rd,& 4th double teeth. I had the same thing on the other side with a bottom tooth and ended up having the tooth extracted because I chose not to have a root canal.: way too expensive when you have no dental insurance. (That was 3 years ago). Could this be an infection of the root again top and bottom at the same time? I have been rubbing ground cloves on which seems to alleviate the pain. This started about a month ago when I tried whitening my teeth with baking soda and realized this was not a good idea for me. I stopped after three days, but the pain comes and goes one day and then I may go several days with no pain at all. My dentist is aware of my receding gums and sensitive teeth. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,

Thanks for choosing HCM,

From your present sympyoms I feel there is periodontal infection which means the tissue sourronding your teeth is inflammed..and may involve the pulp inside the tooth causing this throbbing type of pain...

You have also mentioned that your gum is receding and teeth are sensitive..the cause is due to deposition of calculus arrond the teeth...due to recession of gum the portion of the root surface is getting exposed and leading to sensitivity...

So proper clinical as well as x-ray is required for both upper and lower...if there is cavity in tooth then root canal treatment or extraction have to be done depending on the tooth condition...

Go for whole mouth scaling..and root planing...

Do warm saline rinses,it will give relief from pain to some extent...

Consult with Dentist...

Brush twice daily with any anti sensitivity tooth paste...

Get your proper treatment done...

Regards....

HELLO
THE MISTAKE IS DONE WHEN YOU RUBBED YOUR TEETH WITH BAKING SODA. YOU CAN VISIT SOME DENTAL SCHOOLS OR DENTAL CAMPS FOR YOUR TREATMENT .THEY GIVE YOU TREATMENT AT LOWER COST..... YOUR RECEDING GUMS ARE A CAUSE OF SENSITIVITY AND IF YOU HAVE THROBBING PAIN ALSO I WILL SUGGEST YOU TO GET AN X RAY DONE AND THEN GO FOR ROOT CANAL TREATMENT AND ALSO SCALING AND FINALLY A PERMANENT RESTORATION OF YOUR TEETH WITH CROWN.
I HOPE ALL THIS WILL HELP YOU TO OVERCOME COME YOUR DENTAL AILMENTS..

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

According to your clinical symptoms i suppose that you have developed periodontitis around the affected tooth, receding gums and sensitive tooth can be due to plague and calculus deposition around the tooth causing swelling, inflammation and recession.

A thorough clinical examination is required.
Take an OPG Radiograph.
Go for complete mouth scaling and polishing.
At home take lukewarm slaine and antispetic mouthwash rinses.
Take a complete course of antibiotics and analgesics under the prescription of your Dentist.
Brush your teeth twice daily with a soft bristle toothbrush.

Hope you find this as helpful,

Regards..

Hi,
As per the details,Your gums are affected with periodontal infection which has progressed into periodontal abscess.
This may be due to-
Poor oral hygiene.
systemic diseases like diabetes,epilepsy,auto-immune diseases.
plaque and calculus deposition.
I would suggest you to-
get scaling and root planning done.
bone grafting and splinting has to be done in case of bone loss.
maintain good oral hygiene. The abscess has to be drained and curetted.
Meanwhile,avoid intake of hot/spicy/cold foods.
Brush your teeth using soft-bristled toothbrush.

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Throbbing pain can be due to-decayed/periodontally infected/abraded teeth.

Cause of toothache has to be evaluated clinically by a dentist.

Decayed teeth has to be restored.

Exposed root portions has to be covered with tooth coloured restorative material.

Use soft interdental toothbrush as well as desensitising toothpaste to clean your teeth.

Avoid vigorous brushing techniques.

Take care.

hello
thank you for writing in HCM
pain you are experiencing can be due to infection of gingiva (gums) periodontal tissue (tissues surround the teeth ) or due to carious teeth
you have to go for clinical examination and radio logical evaluation to identify the cause
you can always save tooth by doing root canal treatment
extraction should be last option
visit a dentist soon get scaling polishing root planning done as needed
or treatment of carious tooth if any
rubbing of cloves wont help , you have to get the proper treatment done
do warm water rinses 3 times a day
use gum paint 3 times a day
you can apply anesthetic gel on gums
start with vitamin c tablets
take care
