Throat Pain After Swallowing Chewing Gum. Chest X-ray Normal. Have Anxiety
I swallowed a chewing gum on 14 June & immediately tried to puke it out using my fingers but to no avail then I rushed to dr. He said that there was nothing to worry & the gum had gone down my food pipe but next day I felt pain in my throat so got chest x ray done but that was normal but I still feel throat pain & bouts of anxiety can the gum still be in my throat?
hi, thank you for your query. as you have already gotten the chest xray done and the results are normal,it means that the gum went down the food pipe only. as per your throat pain,it can be attributed to the mucosal irritation that might have been caused due to the gum.hence it will take few weeks for it to subside. in the meantime drink loads of water and dont worry these symptoms will subside soon.. thank you, wishing you good health.
