Tetanus,muscles Sore,foot Red & Swollen,muscles Tightening Up. Treatment?

I was wondering if the spare pills I had left from an infection in June 2013 called Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg tabs would work for help prevent tetanus because I stepped on a rusted nail and I have had a tetanus shot within the last 5 years. I have no health insurance, so the ER is a last resort. Muscles are sore, foot is red and swollen, and muscles tightening up. Anything info helps, I have 7 antibiotic pills leftover!

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
As there is a popular belief that tetanus occurs due to rust, I would like to say that the causative organism is clostridium tetani spores . Mainly found in animal feces and human feces.
There develops muscle spasm and increase muscle tone.
In your case both thing don't present . There is pain in muscle , redness, swelling all these symptoms are due to bacterial infection and inflammation is there.
So don't waste time , consult a surgeon and get his help.
Antibiotics+anti inflammatory + local dressing after cleanse .
