I think you have been advised widal test for diagnosis of typhoid.Definitive diagnosis of typhoid and paratyphoid require isolation of typhoid causing bacteria by positive culture.other than positive culture of blood ,stool or intestinal secretions no other test is definitive but the sensitivity of culture is variable and decreases from first to third week onwards.
the report which you want to be interpreted can be explained like this.Widal test is positive if O antigen titre is more than 1:160 in an active infection .so your titre is not significant but a single widal test is of little clinical significance because of cross reactions.what is your duration of illness is also significant..which i would like to know.hope this will help you!
