Taking Percocet And Morphine For Chronic Back Pain. Any Concerns When Caring For Infant?
I hope so....I am a social worker doing an assessment of a woman who has chronic back pain. She has previously been on percocet and she is no longer taking them. she says her doctor is assisting ehr with pain management adn has ehr on morphinr sulfate. She is taking several doses of different strngths throughout the day. she is taking a 30 mg tab in the AM, a 15 mg at noon and a 5mg X2 if needed for pain during the day. If approved she will be caring for a 3 month old child.....is there concern with these doses if caring for an infant ie: alertness or fatigue

Taking Percocet And Morphine For Chronic Back Pain. Any Concerns When Caring For Infant?
Hi Thanks for asking. This is definitely a concern, Opioids even in small doses can be associated with the problems with the alertness and overall orientation. Although the tolerance develops to it, it varies on the case to case basis. Only a competent person in one to one interaction can judge the individual case, regarding the fitness to take care of kids. Thanks.
