Taking Ibuprofen For Tennis Elbow. Sharp Pain In The Forearm Still Persists. What Are The Possible Other Problems Other Than Tennis Elbow?

I am a male, aged 37. I've recently been experiencing elbow pain akind to tennis elbow. I changed the way I slept and typed on the computer, ibuprofen, hot/cold pads etc. Nothing was working. I could barely lift or use my right arm, I was about to make a doctors appointment when the pain started to disappear on its own. I assume through light exercise through a new job. There is now only a slight twinge when I use my arm or sometimes a sharp pain on the inside of my forearm. I've noticed that the swelling has not gone down at all. Along with that I've noticed that two veins are now visible. They travel around the inflamed area and are dark in color though do not protrude. Besides Tennis elbow, what other possible problems could this be?

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to injury/pathology to soft tissues in the elbow joint.
Investigation like X ray & MRI of the elbow joint will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained by application of ice to the affected area, intake of analgesics like Diclofenac (to be taken after food) + Pantoprazole (to be taken 30 minutes before meals) and application of analgesic & muscle relaxant gel.
You can include supplements of Calcium & Vitamin D in your diet which will help in strengthening of bones.
Physiotherapy exercise will also be helpful.

There is no need to worry, you will be fine.
Till then, maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status, take proper rest and avoid stress.

Wishing you a Good Health.
Take care.
