Taking Abilify For Depression And Anxiety. Can Lower Dosage Be Taken To Reduce Grogginess?
My 85 year old mother forgot to take her 1 mg abilify and felt way less groggy/dopey in the morning, and wants to wean off the med. The tabs are half of a 2 mg abilify tab. Should she take 0.5 mg by quartering the tabs, take 1 mg every other night, or just stop given that the dose is quite low. It was started as an adjunct to her Lexapro . She has diagnoses of depression and anxiety .
Thanks for posting your query on this website. I fully appreciate your concerns.
If I had been your mother's treating doctor, I would have suggested that she continues to take 1mg/day of abilify, but could have attempted at reducing the dose of Lexapro.
I am confident that you will certainly benefit from the advice.
May I assure you that I am always available for your assistance and will try my best to cure your condition to the best of my experience and knowledge.
Please feel free to revert back to me in case of further clarifications, if any.
HAVE A NICE DAY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY.
Fond Regards,
Dr.(Col) R Karanwal
