Hello Sunita and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern, but the pill is known to have a few side effects, one of which is menstrual irregularities. This medication can result in a change in your menstrual cycle, but this should normalize a while after discontinuation of the pill.

Most women experience their period almost immediately after discontinuing the pill or within a few days. But it can take from 1-6 weeks to expect your period. Some women experience it even much later, although it varies, some women have experienced their period almost 6 months after discontinuing the pill. But, if you do not experience a period within 4-6 weeks, I would request you to visit your doctor and get examined. But, I am sure you can expect your period any time soon. A home pregnancy test can also be conducted if you have had recent sexual contact. This test should be conducted at least 2 weeks after your last sexual contact with an early morning urine sample, just to rule out pregnancy as the cause for a delayed period.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-shoaib-khan/64581 . I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
