Swollen Lymph Node, Fatigue, Swollen Tonsils, Night Sweats. Previously Diagnosed With Cmv. Is Cmv Back?

Hi.
I was diagnosed with CMV last year after being VERY sick for weeks (in total 3 months to recovery)...night sweats, swollen lymph nodes, petechiae on ankle, extreme fatigue,etc..... Over the past year, one of my lymph nodes has beeen slightly swollen and a couple others in my neck have swelled, fatigue & very achy, wicked swollen tonsils and night sweats a couple times a month/every other. Today, I have had swollen neck glands for over a week (& blurred left eye vision). Strep throat negative. Blood work drawn. Earler I have an ultrasound of the neck.....there are 4 very swollen lymph nodes. The radiologist hasn't read it yet, however they looked large and dark on screen, the technition told me not to worry but make sure I follow through with the next step. Apparently they are not just fluid filled, whatever that means.
Can CMV come back...or never really go away? I feel like something is just not right.

HELLO and welcome to the forum,

Swollen tonsils especially under such circumstances need to be looked into more keenly. From my clinical practice and experience, it is very unlikely that CMV should be the cause of these symptoms. I see a bacterial origin.

My opinion is surgical removal of these tonsils and analysis in the laboratory to be sure its not a tumor.

I suggest you meet with ENT specialist. Wishing you grow well very fast.

Bye,
