Swollen Area On Tongue. Brown Dot In Back Of Tongue. Anything Serious?

Wondering whether to visit a doctor. On left side of tongue, there's a thin swollen area just where the tastebuds start to disappear. Not sure whether this is different than in the past. I know the right side tapers off, but left side raises a bit before "dropping" (to visualize, just imagine the tongue sticking out horizontal to the floor). At the end of this raised area toward the back of the tongue, there's a tiny brown dot. If my mouth is completely relaxed and I close my teeth, this is the very area that would get bitten as my jaw is slightly shifted. Maybe I bit my tongue during sleep, but I hear that brown dots and swollen areas could be something more serious.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Yes that could be because of the tongue bite.
You need to take multivitamins and gargles and wait for 7 days it will heal up .
Do not do self examination again and again.
If you smoke or drink alcohol or chew tobacco stop that.
even if does not heal do consult an ENT specialist.
