Swollen Area On The Butt Cheek Post A Long Bike Ride, Pains On Sitting Or Touching. Remedy?

My husband has an area of swelling , a bump perhaps, under the skin, on his buttcheek, Right where it meets the leg. It s not all visible to the eye, no open sore, no redness or any discoloration. He can t tell if it feels like a cyst or muscle swelling. It started after his last long bike ride about a week ago. It is really bothering him, hurts to sit and touch.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for posting your query.

From description, it seems your husband might developed bursitis (ischial bursitis) due to constant irritation of bursa.

I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. It might get aspirated and send for routine and microscopic examination under his/her guidance.

Meanwhile You can take Tablet Motrin 1 tablet with food as and when required (upto 4 tablets daily).

Wishing you good health
Regards.
