Swollen And Painful Lump After Insect Bite On Leg And Knee. Normal?

i have a bite from an insect last may 2012 and until now is still here, it is a lump that is swollen and feel hot and it is pain when it is exposed to the sun. It start from my leg and now in my knee. It will be swollen and it will gone and it will be swollen again in another area and it will gone. I have this experienced before and it last for 8 months before it gone. The doctors thought it a cancer because it is hard lumps and swollen. It is happen if i was bitten with insects. It is normal or i need to see a specialist doctor for insect bites.

Hello, I think u have hypertrophic scar or keloid.These type of lesion seen after trauma ,surgery &sometime spontaneously.Keloid ususally have swelling & pain. But one thing in ur history is unusual that swelling have ups &down . the actual diagnosis only by seeing the lesion so consult dermatologist.Other possibility is that ,this lesion become secondrily infected.U also told that swelling occur after insect bite&move here & there thn it may be urticarial lesion .My advice is that consult dermatologist &go for skin biopsy ,whatever be the diagnosis take treatment accordingly.
